Thursday, July 21, 2022, Cambridge, UK – Leading global game developer and publisher Jagex today announced the acquisition of Pipeworks Studios an established and innovative studio based in Eugene, Oregon.
This transaction is the first-ever acquisition of a third-party studio and reflects Jagex’s commitment to expanding their team of world-class talent and increasing their presence in North America.
The Acquisition Is A Positive Continuation Of A Strong Growth Period For Jagex.
They have established themselves as a leader in community driven games with record sales and a string of third-party publishing deals for five years running. In 2021, global investment firm Carlyle (NASDAQ: CG) acquired Jagex to support the company’s growth strategy, including mergers and acquisitions.

Founded in 1999, Pipeworks has built a reputation as a major player in gaming for both established and emerging IPs. The team of more than 200 employees has shipped more than 125 games and is deeply rooted in key franchises for partners such as EA Sports, Wizards of the Coast, Activision, Genvid, MetaTeq and more.
